Unfortunately for many people, taking care of yourself is last on your mind in the midst of all the daily responsibilities of live. All this running around is not good for your mental or physical health. You may have noticed when you get sick it seems to take longer to get well once again. This is because if you are not taking care of yourself like you should which does not help your personal growth.
Are you getting enough sleep?
While you probably have heard how important sleep is, until you actually get enough sleep it will not help. Personal growth and health requires sleep because your body needs daily recharging. Just like your cell phone battery if you do not full charge it, it will run out of charge sooner. Your physical and mental health suffers for it as your immune system and ability to handle stress weaken.
Have you been drinking?
No, not drinking adult drinks, your body needs water. Water will help your immune system by flushing out toxins and impurities. It also helps your mental health by hydrating your brain and body. If you are not drinking enough water you can get a headache and it also means you do not think as clearly. It is hard for your personal growth to develop when you are feeling unfocused because you are dehydrated.
When and what are you eating?
If you want to be mentally and physically healthy you need to pay attention to what you eat. Skipping meals is not just bad for your body, but for your mind as well. When your brain is too low on food, it does not work as well as it should. If you eat junk food then your body suffers with increased weight, cholesterol and other unhealthy responses. Your mind also suffers as it deals with the consequences. Eat healthy and both your body and mind will thank you.
Are you moving?
Get out and walk for 30 minutes a day. Practice yoga or join a fitness club. Even the exercises with the video games that get you up and moving are good for you. The goal is to move for at least 30 minutes a day. If you want to break it up into 10 minute walks at various times during the day, then do it. Exercising is what will keep your blood pumping and help your body and mind grow and relax.
Do you feel happy?
As strange as it sounds, people who are happy are typically physically and mentally healthier. These people search for things that make them happier and by being happier they report feeling healthier. Being happy makes your mind more refreshed and make your body feel more energized. When you start feeling upset or down, look for the things that make you happy and you will probably feel your mental and physical health improve.
